How much time will I save using your product?
Without assistance, the research alone into the process of wrapping up your loved's one's affairs can take up to 40 hours. We've spent hours outlining each step and gathering the contact information so you won't have to. This one-stop source will save you time and provide peace of mind during a difficult time.

How much does your service cost?
The General Survivor's Guide costs $39. If you want help with state-specific items, like the DMV, then we recommend the State Specific Guide, which is $49. There is also the Military Add-On for $10. To see all Guides and to purchase, go to Get Started.

Who can the guide help?

Who would benefit most from using your service?
We designed the Guide with the executor or trustee in mind. This is usually the spouse, a sibling, or a child (if the deceased was older), and is the person responsible for administering the will, distributing the deceased's assets, and wrapping up their affairs. In general, the guide is helpful to anyone responsible for legal, financial, or medical matters of a recently deceased loved one.

Does this apply only to deaths of a US Citizen?
Yes, the Guide takes into account U.S. federal law and assumes a death of a US citizen within the United States.

Can I purchase this for a friend?
Absolutely! The Survivor's Guide makes for a very thoughtful and helpful gift! As anyone who's endured  loss knows, this is the part that often doesn't get thought about until much later -- and comes after all the helpful and supportive friends have gone back to their regular lives. Simply enter your friend's email on the checkout page and the guide will be sent directly to them.

Can I use the Survivor's Guide to help prepare for a death?
While nothing can help you truly prepare for a loved one's passing, the Survivor's Guide can absolutely be a useful tool for making preparations with your loved one. It outlines everything that needs to be taken care of, transferred, addressed, so why not start now and make sure you know your loved one's wishes and where they keep their key documents/passwords.

Does your Military Add-On apply to active duty servicemen and women only?
No, the Military Add-On can help surviving families, where the deceased was active duty, retired, or a veteran.

My husband was a California resident and a veteran. Do I need all three guides?
No. We'd recommend the California Guide and the Military Add-On only. The General Guide is recommended only if the State Specific Guide for your state is not yet available.

Why buy this service when there's so much information available online?
Great question! We asked ourselves the same question, but as soon as we started looking we found that we couldn't find one checklist or one place that had it all! Even after months of research there were still things we were learning. This service is for anyone who wants to:

    • Save time/do things efficiently/not have to search for information. Let our General and State Guide save you 40 hours of work. You can absolutely do it on your own, but why reinvent the wheel when for $1 an hour you can be guided.
    • Jumpstart the process
    • Have an organized and simple process to follow and to track progress
    • Gain peace of mind knowing they are doing things correctly and right the first time.

What's included in the Guide?
